Their election as part of the publication’s 2026 inductees is fitting, coinciding with the upcoming 90th anniversary of the company’s founding in 1936. TR and Tony were among the seven members named to the Hall of Fame for their innovation, efforts, and leadership in the metal building industry.
The April issue of Metal Construction News offers insights into Behlen’s history and recaps the vital roles TR and Phil Raimondo have had since 1984, when TR Raimondo led a management buyout with other key employees, resulting in Behlen once again becoming privately owned. Over the past 40 years, Behlen has expanded its operational footprint while remaining true to its mission, vision, and purpose.
As the article notes, “Their combined leadership represents a unique 'father-son' milestone in the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) history, marking a legacy of service that has fortified the industry’s standards, market reach, and workforce.”
The MCN article acknowledged TR’s leadership in expanding its product line into highly engineered systems for commercial and metropolitan applications, in strategically aligned company acquisitions, and in its success in international markets.
“The leadership impact and legacy of the Raimondos cannot be overstated,” Tom Boal, president of Behlen Mfg. Co., said. “Companywide, we are grateful for their unique vision and dedication. Their induction into the Hall of Fame is an honor that’s well-deserved.”
