Job Title: Maintenance PM Specialist

Department: Maintenance

Location: Columbus, NE

1 Opening – 3rd shift

Salary: Dependent on Qualifications

This is an opportunity for a safety-conscious individual to utilize their mechanical, electrical and organizational skills. This position will be responsible for on-time PM completion.  This position will have the aptitude to identify maintenance opportunities prior to them impacting machine uptime.  This position requires an individual who can work with minimal instruction and is self-motivated.  This position will require a strong working knowledge of break presses, punch presses, welders, laser cutters, galvanizing, painting and powder coating, as well as general mechanical aptitude in mechanical drive systems, pneumatics and hydraulics. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must follow all safety procedures, policy and JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
  • Focus efforts to work towards continuous improvement of product quality using our ISO 9000 Systems
  • A broad knowledge of various mechanical services and capable of working from machine design drawings, specifications and maintenance instructions.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ability to troubleshooting machine mechanical and electrical issues
  • Ability to perform repairs to machinery and/or identify problematic machine conditions and report to maintenance leaders.
  • Ability to communicate with operators and maintenance personnel about maintenance requests
  • Support TPM procedures
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to provide clear instruction on best practices for maintenance tasks, covering all shifts
  • Capable of auditing maintenance activities completed by maintenance personnel
  • This position will be a part of the maintenance weekend “on-call” rotation
  • Responsible for the safety and training of others
  • Responsible for compliance with all documented procedures and employee handbook
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a working team environment
  • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping and keeping good documentation records
  • Responsible for safety, quality and production with limited supervision.
  • Assist in the development of predictive maintenance program

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A two-year degree in electro-mechanical technology or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work from aerial buckets and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to do electrical troubleshooting and the ability to use multi meter / amp meter.
  • May be required to adjust weekly schedule in order to meet departmental needs.
  • Willing to work overtime and off-shift as needed and be available for weekend call-in rotation

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A team player
  • Willing to work irregular hours if called upon to do so
  • Good planning, communication and organization skills
  • Computer skills for data entry into CMMS system.
  • Telephone access a necessity
  • Ability to work towards the continuous improvement of product quality
  • Ability to work with and schedule outside contractors and vendors
