History
Behlen Mfg. Co. was founded in 1936 by Walter D. Behlen. In 1969, Behlen was sold to the Wickes Corporation. On May 5th, 1984, a management buy-out led by A.F. “Tony” Raimondo, the company’s current Chairman and C.E.O., returned the company to local ownership where it has remained since that time.

Behlen Mfg. Co. manufactures and ships products throughout the world. Behlen has three business units, which manufactures products in different market areas. BMC Transportation, a subsidiary of Behlen Mfg. Co., is our company’s own trucking fleet and provides each business unit with control of product pickup and delivery. By providing a diverse product line, the company has achieved added stability and growth.
Behlen Country (the nation's leading manufacturer of livestock equipment) produces livestock handling, horse, and small animal equipment and dog kennels.
Behlen Building Systems produces a wide variety of custom designed metal building systems designed for commercial, industrial, institutional and warehouse buildings along with a complete metal roofing division.
Behlen International and Diversified Products (IDP) is a business unit which has combined the resources of International Agricultural Systems, Strip Joining Presses and Custom Fabrication.
Plant locations
The world headquarters for Behlen Mfg. Co. is in Columbus, NE with additional plants in Huntingdon, TN, Baker City, OR and Cullman, AL. Behlen Metal Buildings Engineering, LTD was created to manufacture building products for domestic use in China, and is located in N.W. Beijing, Haiden District.
