With diameters from 16' (5 meters) to 131' (40 meters) ...eave heights to 98' (30 meters) and capacities up to 1,000,000 bushels (33,400 cubic meters), Behlen offers a bin size designed for every need.

Behlen Commercial Bins feature a unique trapezoidal wall panel with built-in wind bands, allowing them to withstand winds up to 90 mph with no additional reinforcement. This superior wall panel has been computer designed to provide extra vertical strength and greater wind resistance.

The new, heavier Big Bin® Series will incorporate a 12 foot diameter peak platform to accommodate increasingly wider equipment. The 131 ft. clear span roof will have the capability of supporting 35,000 lbs. of catwalk and conveyor loads to support the increasingly larger equipment being used by grain elevators. In addition, the opening size has been increased to allow for the higher fill rates requested by bin customers. These features, along with the excellent customer service Behlen is known for, will provide Behlen and their customers with a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

The bin will tower more than 110 feet above the landscape at its peak and will be fabricated from 15 truckloads of steel. The steel walls will be nearly seven-sixteenths of an inch thick at the base to withstand the tremendous grain pressures. It will take 1,000 truckloads of grain to fill the massive structure. Customers will be able to benefit from the structure’s lower installed cost per bushel and decreased cost of handling grain that several smaller bins would require. The Big Bin® Series will help Behlen to preserve its position as one of the world’s premier manufacturers of commercial grain storage equipment.
