Behlen Mfg. Co., founded in 1936, has grown from the initial products developed in the garage of Columbus entrepreneur Walter D. Behlen to a global manufacturer exporting to more than 70 countries. Diversification into several market areas has added stability and growth.

Today the company consists of three diverse business units, including the Behlen Building Systems (Behlen and Behlen China), Behlen Country (the nation's leading manufacturer of livestock equipment), International and Diversified Products (grain systems, strip joining presses, and custom fabrication). With a fleet of more than 100 owner operators with BMC Transportation, the company's own transportation company, Behlen product is delivered throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Our Locations

The world headquarters of Behlen Mfg. Co. is located at the 850,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Columbus, Nebraska. From this location, products have been exported to over 90 countries. Additional plant locations include: Omaha, Nebraska; Baker City, Oregon; and McGregor, Texas. A distribution center is located in Huntingdon, Tennessee.
